He is a successful handsome heartthrob that appears in multiple episodes throughout every season of the show; even if Carrie and him aren't dating, they always maintain a friendship. He is definitely the main male character and brings a lot of emotion to the show. Aidan Shaw
Aidan Shaw, played by John Corbett, played Carrie's boyfriend at two different points in the show (once in season 3 and once in season 4). He owns his own furniture store and makes all the pieces himself. In season 4, before him and Carrie get back together, he goes into business with Steve Brady and they open their own bar. He is a very sweet and sensitive guy who owns his very own country house (that he constructed himself) situated in Suffern, New York. He is most women's view of what the perfect man should be as he always treated Carrie extraordinarily well and was very ready to commit to her. They just weren't meant to be.
Jack Berger
Jack Berger, played by Ron Livingston, was introduced to the show in season 5 episode "Plus One Is the Loneliest Number" when him and Carrie meet at their shared publisher's office. Carrie is immediately attracted to him but he unfortunately has a girlfriend. They become reacquainted at the end of season 5 and begin dating in season 6. Berger's character played someone somewhat pessimistic yet funny and witty. After deciding to go on a break for a week, Berger and Carrie get back together but only for one night; the next morning, before Carrie even woke up, he left her a break-up post-it message. They thankfully never spoke to each other again.

At first, Carrie doesn't see herself having a serious relationship with him as she can barely even understand him (due to his strong Russian accent). They do however develop a serious relationship which even leads them to move to Paris together. Aleksandr, known as "The Russian" has quite a harsh and serious personality, Let's put it this way, he doesn't sugar coat anything. Him and Carrie break up while in Paris when she realizes she can't be with a man who puts himself and his career first.

He unfortunately does not have much luck with the women but he has an amazing personality and is always ready to commit.
Steve Brady
Steve Brady, played by David Eigenberg, meets Miranda in the season 2 episode "The Man, The Myth, The Viagra" at the bar he works at. They end up having a one-night-stand and Miranda, being quite pessimistic, does not believe they can develop into a relationship. Turns out, they can. Steve always wants to be there for Miranda and he constantly tries to get Miranda to allow him into her life. They too have an on again off again relationship but it does eventually develop into a marriage. In season 4, Steve decides to open his own bar (which he was inspired to do because of Miranda). After being unfaithful to Miranda in the first movie, they are able to work through their problems and have a happy marriage.

He is sweet, handsome, smart, and really good to Miranda. He even tells her he loves her on a gigantic chocolate chip cookie that he made himself. His only downfall is coming into Miranda's life at the wrong time because shortly after they begin dating, Miranda realizes she is still in love with Steve.

He is a very suave and confident man who knows what he wants and finds a way to get it. He does love Samantha very much but unfortunately his "bachelor type tendencies" get in the way. He does admit to making a big mistake by letting her go when they bump into each other in the season 6 episode "Let There Be Light".
Smith Jerrod
Smith Jerrod, played by Jason Lewis, is introduced in the season 6 episode "Great Sexpectations". He is a waiter at the restaurant Raw and Samantha is instantly attracted to him. She helps him become a star actor and he helps Samantha with her battle through breast cancer. Although he may be a decent amount younger than Samantha, he is very committed to their relationship and is patient enough to put up with Samantha's wall that she often puts up. Their relationship lasts 5 years but Samantha breaks up with Smith at the end of the first movie when she realizes she no longer has her own life in California.
Charlotte's Men
Trey Macdougal
Trey Macdougal, played by Kyle Maclachlan, is introduced in the season 3 episode "Drama Queens", Him and Charlotte meet in a very "knight and shining armour" type of way when she falls in front of the cab he was in. He is a heart surgeon and seems practically perfect. Charlotte and Trey get married too fast and their marriage at first suffers from his erectile problems and later on from the lack of ability to conceive a baby. Trey is always more than happy to put up with Charlotte's somewhat spoiled needs; he often says he will do anything to make her happy. He does however have an overbearing mother, Bunny Macdougal, who is not so fond of Charlotte. After realizing he is too tired to continue exploring the multiple options of having a baby, their marriage ends.
Harry Goldenblatt
Harry Goldenblatt, played by Evan Handler, is introduced to the show in the season 5 episode "Critical Condition". He plays Charlotte's pushy divorce lawyer against Trey's mother, Bunny. He is not exactly how you would describe Charlotte's type as he is bald, pushy, messy, and hairy. At first, they have a sexual relationship but after Harry shows Charlotte his amazingly sweet personality, she falls in love with him. After having to convert to Judaism, they get married and also struggle to have children. Harry is extremely determined to do anything it takes to provide them with a baby and in the last episode, they get accepted to adopt a baby from China. Harry treats Charlotte like the princess she is and does anything it takes to make her happy.

Stanford Blatch, played by Willie Garson, is introduced to the show in the very first episode "Sex and the City". He plays Carrie's longtime gay friend (often even referred to as her gay boyfriend or even her gay husband). He has a very flashy style and witty personality. He is proud and open to be a gay man living in New York City. Him and Carrie have a very close friendship; he is always there for her and she for him. He does have a rival throughout the last three seasons of the show: Anthony Marantino. They do not get along as Anthony rudely rejected Stanford. Even when Stanford is in a serious relationship with boyfriend Marcus Adant, he constantly looks to make Anthony jealous. Anthony is loud, pushy, over the top, and is attracted to hot. built gay men. He plays a character that enjoys sleeping around and doesn't care much for love but a softer side of him is revealed in the second movie at him and Stanford's wedding.
